Mersin International Port (MIP) is located on Türkiye’s Mediterranean coast and is one of the country’s largest container and general cargo terminals. The port operates under a long-term concession agreement and serves both domestic and international trade, handling a share of Türkiye’s import and export volumes.

Prior to the transaction, Mersin International Port Management, the company operating the port, was jointly owned by Akfen Holding and PSA International, a global port operator headquartered in Singapore.

With this transaction, Akfen Holding sold its 40% shareholding in MIP to IFM Investors, a global institutional fund manager, for USD 869 mn. The sale provided IFM with exposure to critical infrastructure in a growing market, while PSA International retained its stake in the port.
