Xenon Private Equity acquired the tomato processing company Solana

Fineurop Soditic acted as exclusive financial advisor to Xenon Private Equity in the acquisition of the 100% share capital of Solana S.p.A., from the founding shareholders.

Founded in Maccastorna (near Lodi) in 2001, Solana is a modern factory active in the tomato processing for industrial food service and clients. Its plant covers 135,000 sqm with a built area of about 22,000 sqm and it has been created greenfield to optimize the flow and production processes according to hygiene, energetic and industrial requirements and in compliance with ESG standards.

With a processing capacity around 200.000 tons of tomatoes per year, Solana posted 2023 turnover of ca. Euro 64 million mainly generated in Italy, but also in Europe and Japan.

Xenon's growth plans include new acquisitions to strengthen Solana's presence in the agri-food sector and expand its territorial and commercial reach.

The purchase was funded through a mezzanine bond underwritten by Equita private debt fund.

Additionally, acquisition financing and ancillary facilities was provided by BPER Banca, Banca Sella, Cassa Centrale Banca, BdM Banca, Iccrea Banca, Banca Centropadana, and BCC Lodi.
